Kura Oncology Inc. (NASDAQ:KURA) shares climbed 11.0% in pre-market trading on Tuesday after President and Chief Executive Officer Troy Edward Wilson purchased approximately $1.24 million worth of the company's shares.
According to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Wilson acquired 100,000 Kura Oncology shares on August 24, 2026, providing a notable signal of insider confidence in the biotechnology company.
CEO Purchases 100,000 Kura Oncology Shares
Wilson bought the shares at a weighted average price of $12.39 each, with the transaction completed through multiple trades at prices ranging from $11.47 to $12.85 per share.
The acquisition increased Wilson's indirect ownership through the One Fish Two Fish Revocable Trust to 479,194 shares.
In addition to those holdings, the Kura Oncology CEO directly owns 435,456 shares and has an indirect interest in another 300,000 shares through the Lorax Charitable Remainder Unitrust.
Insider Purchase Draws Investor Attention
The scale of Wilson's purchase attracted attention from investors ahead of Tuesday's opening bell, helping send Kura Oncology shares sharply higher in pre-market trading.
