Asteria Group acquires Dutch label maker GT Etiketten

Asteria Group has acquired GT Etiketten & Labels, a label manufacturer based in Schoonebeek, the Netherlands.

Financial terms of the deal remain undisclosed.

GT Etiketten produces digitally and flexographically printed labels, as well as blank labels manufactured in-house.

Its operations include eight-colour UV LED flexographic printing and label constructions such as duo-layer multilayer labels.

The company serves food labelling, beverage and cosmetics markets, among others, and works with a range of materials and adhesives for different applications.

The acquisition adds a production site in Schoonebeek to Asteria's existing Dutch operations.

The location is intended to complement the group's current production sites in the Netherlands and allow capacity, knowledge and specialist capabilities to be shared across its network.

GT Etiketten will become part of Asteria's European production network, while its customers will have access to the group's wider technologies and packaging capabilities.

Last month, Asteria Group acquired Mercian Labels, adding the UK-based company as its 41st production location.

Mercian Labels operates from Burntwood, Staffordshire, and develops self-adhesive labels for food, drinks and pharmaceutical customers.

Its production work includes flexographic and digital printing, including inkjet, as well as finishing options.

According to a statement by Asteria, the acquisition broadens its presence in the UK labels market.
