SpaceX (SPCX) shares were in focus on Friday after CEO Elon Musk offered an extraordinarily bullish long-term revenue forecast for the newly public space infrastructure and artificial intelligence (AI) company. The billionaire now believes SpaceX could generate about $3.5 trillion in annual revenue by 2033, seven years earlier than Morgan Stanley's comparable estimate.

SpaceX stock is currently down about 30% versus its year-to-date high.

Why Is Musk Uber Bullish on SpaceX?

Musk's forecast represents a massive acceleration from roughly $18.7 billion in revenue SpaceX generated in 2025.

The bullish thesis rests on more than rockets and satellite internet. SPCX is investing rather heavily in AI infrastructure, including orbital computing, while expanding Starlink and Starship launch capacity.

The giant has also announced plans for a $100 billion Louisiana Starbase, designed to dramatically increase launch capacity beginning later this decade.

Crucially, the technical setup is exciting even for short-term traders. SPCX shares have recently broken above their 50-day moving average (MA), indicating the upward momentum could sustain in the near term.

Should You Load Up on SPCX Shares Today?

Musk's forecast gives investors a reason to remain bullish on SpaceX shares for the long-term, but more immediate attraction is that the firm is already demonstrating substantial revenue momentum.

In the latest reported quarter, SPCX saw its revenue soar by 92% on a year-over-year basis to $7.8 billion, handily exceeding Wall Street's consensus estimate of $6.9 billion.

Meanwhile, Starlink's subscriber count also reached a whopping 12 million. Note that Elon Musk's forecast came in response to a bullish Morgan Stanley report, in which its analysts assigned a $300 price target to SpaceX.

The firm's bullish view is also based on expectations for rapid growth across connectivity, space, and artificial intelligence. That said, SPCX remains an expensive stock to own at a price-to-sales (P/S) multiple of about 97x.

What's the Consensus Rating on SpaceX?

While not nearly as bullish as Morgan Stanley, other Wall Street firms also recommend buying SPCX stock at current levels.

The consensus rating on SpaceX sits at "Moderate Buy" currently, with the mean price target of about $218 indicating potential upside of more than 50% over the next 12 months.
