Hoxton Wealth collaborates with AWS on agentic AI tool

Hoxton Wealth, a financial advisory group, has started a partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to examine practical uses of AI within its operations and across the wider wealth management industry.

The work sits within AWS's $1bn commitment to Forward Deployed Engineering, a unit created to place senior AWS engineers, including specialists from advanced AI teams, alongside client staff.

The aim is to build and introduce agentic AI tools over a much shorter timeframe, with projects organised around defined business results and with the client team expected to become independent by the end of the process.

AWS EMEA and APJ Financial Services director Mark Jopling said: "Our goal is simple: help firms like Hoxton Wealth close the gap between AI ambition and production reality, deploying agentic AI at scale, and at startup speed.

"Hoxton Wealth has the domain expertise, and we bring AI engineers who turn that ambition into deployed systems in days, not months, so they can innovate independently. Our Forward Deployed Engineers build alongside the customer's team so the firm owns the capability long after we step back."

One project now in progress involves the use of AI to prepare client reports, a step intended to improve advisers' efficiency and simplify internal processes.

Hoxton Wealth is developing an internal knowledge system designed to spread expertise that is currently concentrated among a small number of senior employees.

The company is using the AWS FDE unit to change the way its workflows operate.

Hoxton Wealth chief technology officer Mansel Oliver said: "AWS and its partner companies, including AI specialists, bring the technical expertise. They're working with us to prove out various concepts, and we hope to take those live.

"Often an advisor would need to speak to a senior colleague to get an answer," Oliver explains. "We're taking that knowledge out of a few people's heads and making it available to everyone, so advisors can find answers themselves."
