Gaming Realms CEO: Content growth accelerating as company expands into new markets

Gaming Realms PLC (LSE:GMR, OTCQX:PSDMF, FRA:RNE1) CEO Mark Segal spoke with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about first-half performance, accelerating content licensing growth, expansion into new regulated markets and plans to increase the pace of game releases.

Segal said core content licensing revenue grew 12% in the first half, followed by 23% growth in the subsequent two months, driven by content quality, market expansion, closer partner relationships and strong player engagement.

On the UK, Segal noted the remote gaming duty increase began at the start of Q2 and is expected to have a greater impact in the second half, though play and gross revenue have continued to rise. "I think we may not see quite the same growth moving forward, albeit we are releasing more content now," he said.

Gaming Realms is now live in 34 regulated markets, with Alberta and Argentina added since the period ended. Segal highlighted the US and Canada as the company's biggest growth markets, with further US market openings offering additional opportunities, alongside expansion into Peru, Buenos Aires province and African markets.

Increased investment in content is beginning to translate into a more consistent release schedule across Slingo and Lucky Lunar, with Segal hoping for "a much more consistent level of volume coming through" to drive greater revenue engagement and more tailored games for operators and individual markets.
