Sugar Prices Are Climbing Higher. How to Trade Them Here.

March sugar (SBH27) futures present a buying opportunity on more price strength.

See on the daily bar chart for March sugar futures that prices are trending higher and last week hit a contract high. The bulls have the near-term technical advantage as "the trend is their friend."

Fundamentally, weather problems in major sugar-producing countries have reduced supplies, while demand is on the rise. Worries about the "Super El Nino" weather phenomenon in the coming months are also supporting buying interest in sugar futures, as is rising global inflation.

A move in the March sugar futures above chart resistance at 19.50 cents would become a buying opportunity. The upside price objective would be 21.75 cents or above. Technical support, for which to place a protective sell stop just below, is located at 18.50 cents.
