Holtec Nuclear Corporation launched the roadshow for its initial public offering on Tuesday, offering 50 million shares of Class A common stock at a price range of $15 to $18 apiece, which would raise up to $900 million and value the company at up to $10.2 billion, the company said.

Holtec plans to list on the Nasdaq Global Select Market and Nasdaq Texas under the ticker symbol "HNUC." The underwriters have a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 7.5 million shares. The joint lead book-running managers are J.P. Morgan, Guggenheim Securities, Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, and BofA Securities, with Morgan Stanley, Cantor, BMO Capital Markets, and Oppenheimer & Co. rounding out the group of joint book-running managers.

Holtec was established in 1986 by Krishna Singh and has built its business around technologies including reactor components, heat transfer systems, spent fuel storage, and the decommissioning of nuclear plants, according to Reuters. The Camden, New Jersey-based company holds more than 200 granted patents as of June 30, 2026, operates three U.S.-based manufacturing facilities, and has provided products and services to more than 150 nuclear reactors worldwide, the company said.

Holtec is developing the SMR-300 small modular reactor and expects to deploy the first two units at its Palisades site in Michigan. The company is also recommissioning the Palisades nuclear power plant, which would be the first commercial nuclear reactor in the United States to return to operation after a permanent shutdown, the company said.

Holtec's IPO is part of a broader wave of nuclear listings, according to Reuters, as the rapid growth of data centers puts mounting pressure on electricity grids and revives appetite for nuclear power. Companies in the sector have been moving away from SPAC transactions in favor of conventional public offerings.

Nuclear reactor developer X-energy priced its IPO at $23 per share in April, raising $1.02 billion in an upsized offering above its marketed range. At that price, X-energy carried a market value of $9.1 billion. Like Holtec, X-energy is developing small modular reactors and listed on the Nasdaq Global Select Market.

A registration statement has been filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission but has not yet become effective, the company said.
