Itaconix sets out path to $30 million dollar revenues after record first half

Itaconix PLC (AIM:ITX, OTCQB:ITXXF, FRA:18G0) CEO John Shaw joined Steve Darling from Proactive to discuss the company's strong first-half performance, highlighted by breakeven adjusted EBITDA, a stronger cash position, and continued revenue growth as demand for its sustainable polymer technologies expands across key markets.

Shaw said the company's progress can be measured by three critical metrics moving in the right direction simultaneously: revenue growth, profitability, and cash generation. Achieving breakeven adjusted EBITDA marks an important milestone for Itaconix as it continues to scale its business while maintaining financial discipline.

A major driver of growth remains the company's TSI polymer technology, which is increasingly being adopted by manufacturers of automatic dishwasher detergents across Europe and North America. Shaw noted that the addressable market remains enormous, estimating there are approximately 70 billion automatic dishwasher cycles annually across Europe and the broader EMEA region. Despite this opportunity, Itaconix products currently participate in less than 4% of that market, leaving substantial room for expansion.

To accelerate adoption, the company continues to promote its SPARX formulated solutions and consumer-focused initiatives which helps customers reformulate products using more sustainable, plant-based ingredients while maintaining performance.

Looking ahead, Shaw reiterated the company's goal of reaching US$30 million in annual revenue. He explained that much of the momentum needed to achieve that target is already embedded within the existing customer base, which generated the majority of first-half growth. To reach the next level, Itaconix is targeting additional large contract manufacturing partnerships across EMEA while continuing to add purpose-driven consumer brands throughout North America.

Beyond detergents, Shaw outlined a much broader growth vision for the company. He said Itaconix is working with a major participant in the global paint industry to develop plant-based alternatives for specialty paint applications, targeting a segment of the approximately US$40 billion acrylic paint market.

The company is also expanding into agricultural applications. Shaw revealed that Itaconix technologies are currently being evaluated in field trials covering more than 100 acres of corn and soybean crops across multiple U.S. states. Results from those trials are expected later this year or early next year. If successful, the next phase could involve testing across more than 10,000 acres, opening another potentially significant growth market.

With growing adoption in detergents, emerging opportunities in paints and agriculture, and improving financial performance, Itaconix believes it is building a diversified platform capable of supporting its longer-term ambition of becoming a US$100 million revenue company.
