The giant artificial intelligence company Anthropic has rolled out Claude for Financial Advisors, a suite of artificial intelligence connectors and what the company refers to as "workflow skills" designed to help advisors automate research, meeting preparation and documentation tasks.
Its new product includes connectors to custodians, asset managers and wealth technology providers, such as Charles Schwab, BlackRock, Addepar, Envestnet, iCapital, Orion, SS&C Black Diamond, Wealthbox, Wealth.com, Vanguard and Zocks, along with previously available integrations with Microsoft 365, Salesforce, DocuSign, Box, FactSet, S&P Global and Morningstar.
The platform includes skills for advisor onboarding, alternative investments briefing, compliance and AI policy review, estate and tax briefing, portfolio rebalance review, post-meeting notes and follow-up, pre-meeting preparation and prospect intake, according to Anthropic.
"We aren't trying to replace any of the tools out there," said Peter Nolan, head of asset and wealth management at Anthropic, during an interview with WealthManagement, when asked whether this puts Anthropic in the position of competing with and potentially upending the developing ecosystem of entrepreneurs and developers working with it and other major AI model providers.
"Our goal is to drive utilization in the advisor stack today, and they [advisors] have probably an average of seven or so tools, not to replace any of those they are using now, think of us as a symphony conductor who is helping make things sing and better talk to the other parts of the symphony, he said.
A typical advisory practice spends only one-sixth of its time in client meetings, with the rest devoted to preparation, planning and documentation, according to Kitces research cited by Anthropic.
"Advisors are navigating increasingly complex client needs while facing an accelerating pace of change across markets and technology," said Jaime Magyera, head of U.S. wealth and retirement businesses at BlackRock. "Our work with Anthropic is an important step in our broader effort to bring BlackRock's portfolio intelligence and asset allocation expertise to more advisors to help them scale their business and build better portfolios."
Anthropic even tapped an advisory world digital and social media maven, Josh Brown, CEO of Ritholtz Wealth Management, to provide a prepared statement in their release.
"I don't want my CFPs spending hours every week laboring over CRM updates and task assignments," Brown said. "I want them talking to clients and engaged in the planning itself, because that's the part clients truly value."
In fact, Anthropic, in what some would consider an unusual move in the fairly staid world of advisory industry press releases, included quotes from 18 industry leaders, including those of advisory and wealth management firms and partner vendors, in its six-page announcement.
One such example is the advisory AI provider Zocks, which is popular among many financial advisors.
"The expanded collaboration between Claude and Zocks brings together data and personal client context that used to be fragmented across sources and systems. Now, every task and analysis through Claude is grounded in a more complete understanding of the client. It also gives enterprise firms greater flexibility to build AI workflows around how their advisors actually work," said Mark Gilbert, CEO and co-founder of Zocks, in the statement.
The advisor plugin is available on Enterprise plans, which include audit logs for recordkeeping, the company said. For more on pricing, advisors can visit the Claude pricing web page.
Asked about rising token costs and awareness of them among firms and technology providers using major AI vendors, Anthropic's Nolan said pricing is transparent and reflects current industry costs.
Advisors who want to use the new Claude for Advisors product (a ballpark would be around $70 to $120 per user per month, according to Nolan) will need to have Claude Co-Work and Anthropic's Claude for Finance (the latter being free).
"If they use it a lot they will pay a lot," he said, referring to utilization at midsize to larger RIA firms.
Firms that request a new license before the end of September 2026 will receive a one-time usage credit, Anthropic said.
