Reddit's latest quarterly results showed daily active uniques increased 18% year over year to 130.3 million, while weekly active uniques climbed 24% to 514.6 million.

The broader social-media group is showing a mixed picture, with Meta Platforms (NASDAQ:META) stock down 0.34% to $663.31 and Snap (NYSE:SNAP) stock rising 1% to $5.88. The Global X Social Media ETF (NASDAQ:SOCL) is up 2% to $44.90, while SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (NYSE ARCA:SPY) is unchanged at $760.60.

Reddit's User Growth Remains A Bullish Signal

Reddit's 18% increase in daily active uniques gives the bullish case a meaningful foundation, particularly because Reddit also produced 61% year-over-year revenue growth to $805 million in the second quarter. Reddit's adjusted EBITDA more than doubled to $343 million, while free cash flow reached $261 million.

Reddit's international audience is another encouraging point, with international daily active uniques increasing 28% year over year compared with 6% growth in the U.S. Reddit's international revenue also climbed 84%, suggesting that expanding usage outside the U.S. could provide additional monetization opportunities.

The Stock Still Faces A Higher Bar

A Cautious Approach May Make Sense

Reddit's operating performance gives the bullish case plenty to work with, especially considering 18% daily-user growth, 61% revenue growth and sharply higher free cash flow. Reddit's ability to turn that expansion into sustained advertising growth and stronger long-term earnings could matter more than any single day's stock move.

However, Reddit stock remains a more volatile way to gain exposure to social-media growth than Meta Platforms stock, while Snap stock offers a separate but higher-risk turnaround story. Investors who choose to own Reddit stock may want to keep their share-position sizes moderate, particularly until the market gets a clearer picture of whether Reddit's strong underlying growth can continue to justify the stock's valuation.
