Coyote Copper receives drill permit approval, expands Copper Springs project footprint

Coyote Copper Mines CEO Daniel Weir joined Steve Darling from Proactive to discuss a major advancement at the company's wholly owned Copper Springs Project, announcing that Coyote has received full approval for its Phase 1 drilling permits following the successful completion of its Plan of Operations.

The approval represents an important milestone for the company as it moves from exploration and target generation into an active drilling phase aimed at unlocking the project's copper potential.

Weir explained that regulators have authorized a total of 37 drill locations across the Copper Springs Project. Each location can accommodate multiple drill holes, providing the company with significant flexibility as it evaluates a range of priority targets. Under the permit terms, Coyote has three years to complete all drilling and reclamation activities associated with the approved program.

The upcoming Phase 1 drilling campaign will target both near-surface oxide copper mineralization and deeper sulphide copper systems, giving the company an opportunity to test multiple styles of mineralization across the project area. These targets were developed through extensive exploration work that included geological mapping, surface sampling, and several generations of geophysical surveys designed to identify and prioritize prospective zones.

To further enhance drill targeting, Coyote is continuing additional fieldwork that includes soil sampling, channel sampling and new geophysical surveys. The company believes the ongoing work will help refine target locations and maximize the effectiveness of the Phase 1 drill campaign.

At the same time, management is already planning for the project's next stage of exploration. Weir confirmed that preparations for Phase 2 drilling permits will begin shortly, demonstrating the company's commitment to advancing Copper Springs through a systematic and multi-year exploration strategy.

In another significant development, Coyote has expanded its land position around the project by staking 111 additional mineral claims, increasing the overall footprint of the Copper Springs Project to approximately 72.36 square kilometres.

The company is also progressing a new 2D Induced Polarization (IP) geophysical survey, a key component of its exploration program. Phase 1 of the survey is currently underway and covers approximately 17 line kilometres across survey lines L1 through L7 in the central-eastern portion of the property. The survey is expected to be completed by mid-September.

Absolutely. We're going to talk about that for sure. Uh first, maybe just give a bit of background on the company.

So, I'm the CEO and founder uh of the company. In 2021, I went to Arizona specifically looking for copper assets. Um, I was able to put a land package together within what is called the copper triangle. What's amazing about this is, is that we're only one hour uh east of Phoenix. So you can basically land at the Phoenix Airport and drive right into our property. There's a highway called Highway 60. It's like an interstate almost right to the property.

Surrounding us and you can see in my background here, you have guys like BHP, Rio Tinto, South 32, Freeport. If you take the top 10 copper producers in the world, six of them have assets surrounding me, um, and around our property.

Also, within the copper triangle, um, there's only three copper smelters in the whole United States and two of them are right here. One just north of us owned by Freeport and one just south of us owned by Grupo Mexico. So, it's an amazing place to be.

We're finding unbelievable amounts of copper, both oxide and sulfide type copper, so we're very lucky.

Yeah. So the the Copper Springs project, I know you've been waiting for some some permitting and that has now come through. So, uh you're able to get this phase one drill program underway. So, tell me about finally acquiring the permits and and really what the drilling is going to do.

So, it was a bit of a challenge especially with the new administration in the US. I'm trying to be polite here. Um, because when the new administration came in, they fired all the people that give out the permits. So, it took us probably about an extra eight months to obtain the permits, mostly because we went through sort of three project managers within the government organizations, um, and now the new people are in place, they're unbelievable people to work with.

So the next phase of drilling will become uh uh the permits will come a lot faster and easier.

Yeah. So 37 drill locations you've been approved for. So it sounds like there's there's a lot of uh opportunity here for you. Are you going to focus in on on one specific area, Dan?

Yeah, historically and in the background you can see here, historically there was a resource on about 5% of our project. And and remember, we've expanded this project over the last six months as well, almost doubling the size. We now have over almost 70 square kilometers. That's like 17,000 acres.

There's a historical resource sitting here. So some of the initial drill holes will be around that historical resource and a whole new zone that we found. So you can go to some of our press releases that talks about some of those new zones that we found.

Okay. Uh I know that you've also done some some IP work on there. You also stake some more ground as well to add to the the project. You you've been doing a lot while you've been waiting for these permits.

Yeah, the geophysics has been unbelievable because, you know, we're sort of showing right up in this area up in here, this massive what they call a BHP donut. And in the geophysics world, that's what you're looking for. You're looking for a massive Porfury style donut. And we have

that right out here on the property. It's also attracted a lot of the bigger companies uh to us. We've got CAs in place with a number of them. Um,

they've all mostly been to visit the property. At the end of the month, I have two other big companies coming to see the property, but some of them have been there two and three times. So, it is phenomenal. They like what we're doing with the geophysics and we are actually going to expand that geophysics program.

And that's mostly because of the big guys asking uh for that. And again, because of the accept the success of the geophysics and some of the soil sampling, we've also expanded the project uh as you mentioned.

Yeah. Okay, so let's wrap wrap it up and talk a little bit about what's ahead. You mentioned obviously that the the drilling's going to beginning soon and then you're looking at doing phase two drilling as well. So there's permits that you need for that. So it sounds like it's all it's all steam ahead here.

It's absolutely amazing. This thing has turned out a lot better than we ever ever expected. Finding that new zone with sulfied material right at surface. Like next door to us, the Resolution mine is the second largest undeveloped project on the planet. Like not in the United States, on the planet.

It is a massive property or project and it's very deep. It starts about 1300 m and goes down to 3,000 m. Over where we are, we're seeing the sulfides right at surface. Now, because of that donut shape, we also see something very large

that that has massive potential deep as well, but having the material right at surface also attracts a lot of the big mining companies.
