Zcash spot ETFs, primarily driven by the Grayscale Zcash Trust (OTC:ZCSH), recorded $11.42 billion in trading volume for the week ending September 18, 2026, which accounts for 32.5% of all spot crypto ETF turnover.
Approximately one-third of the market's trading activity was directed through funds that began collecting cumulative inflows on August 27, 2026, less than a month prior. The 32.5% figure pertains to turnover, which measures shares changing hands rather than assets or net inflows, and this distinction determines what the number means.
One Session Produced 96.5% of the Turnover
The total value traded on September 16 reached $11,023,979,376, according to the SoSoValue export. The entire week's turnover amounted to $11.42 billion, leaving around $396 million traded across the other four sessions.
Trading on September 18 totaled $127,600,500 by comparison, so the heavy session on September 16 accounted for 86 times the trading volume of the last day of the week. It also represented 12.1 times the fund's entire net assets in a product that had been active for under a month.

Turnover figures track the notional dollars changing hands via the ticker, so a single day of arbitrage between ETF shares and the underlying token can dominate weekly totals. When a market maker buys shares and repeatedly sells the token during a session, each transaction adds to the count without any dollars staying in the fund.
On September 16, the Federal Reserve raised its target range by 25 basis points to an upper bound of 3.75% to 4.00%, and the Senate narrowly rejected the CLARITY Act with a vote of 49 to 50 on September 15. These developments gave traders reasons to adjust their crypto positions, and a new fund with few long-term holders offered a liquid instrument for this purpose.
Price Activity Drove Most of the $914 Million in Assets
Zcash spot ETFs have experienced four consecutive weeks of positive inflows since their launch, taking in $271 million in total. Assets rose mainly on ZEC's 175.14% monthly gain rather than on that money.
As of September 18, cumulative net inflows reached $270,951,568 while total net assets stood at $914,528,187.65. The difference of around $644 million is largely due to ZEC's price increase rather than new inflows, which make up 70% of what the fund holds.
ZEC has appreciated by 175.14% through September 19 and by 39.45% in the week, according to exchange price data. A token that nearly triples in value over a month increases the dollar value of existing shares, which is reflected in the total assets without necessitating new buyers.
Most inflows came late in the week. September 17 saw an influx of $46,564,908, the largest single-day influx of the week, followed by $37,667,360 on September 18. These two days account for $84.23 million, or 31% of the total inflows since the fund's launch.
Zcash's Inflows Represent 16% of XRP's
Zcash is currently the third-largest altcoin ETF product, trailing behind XRP (CRYPTO:XRP) and Solana (CRYPTO:SOL), and ranking ahead of nine others.
As of September 18, XRP spot ETFs recorded cumulative net inflows of $1,710,373,047.51, so Zcash's $270,951,568 represents 16% of that amount. Solana spot ETFs held total net assets of $1.4 billion by September 17, compared to Zcash's $914 million.
Despite occupying third place after just four weeks, Zcash's rapid ascent reflects more on the relatively thin competition among lower-ranking altcoin ETFs than on its absolute financial attraction.
Can the Zcash ETF Maintain Its Trading Volume?
Trading volume shows traders found the product, and four positive weeks show some stayed. The high concentration in a single session suggests liquidity has been driven more by short-term trading than sustained investor interest.
When daily trading volume falls to a small fraction of total assets, while cumulative inflows surpass the current total of $270,951,568, it will signal that trading has shifted to capital that remains invested. Until then, the current 32.5% reflects just one significant session in a fund that has been active for only four weeks.
