Corn Bulls Putting Risk Back at Monday’s Midday

Corn futures are seeing the money flow come back in on Monday, with contracts up 14 to 15 cents so far at midday. The CmdtyView national average Cash Corn price is up 15 cents at $4.97 1/4.

USDA's FGIS tallied corn export shipments at 1.938 MMT (76.32 mbu) during the week ending on September 17. That was up 24.9% from the week prior and 39.87% above the same week last year. Japan was the top destination of 591,923 MT, with 540,979 MT headed to Mexico and 259,441 MT to Colombia. Marketing year exports for 2026/27 are 4.139 MMT (162.93 mbu), which is now 15.94% above the same period last year.

Heading into the meeting with President Trump and China's President Xi this week, the export wire has been quiet on any corn sales to China. Secretary Bessent met with Chinese Counterparts over the weekend in preparation for the meeting.

Brazil's first corn crop was estimated at 27% planted as of Thursday according to AgRural, which is ahead of the 25% pace from last year.
