Media One Acquires Premex Solutions

In a move to expand its growing portfolio, which includes Fisher Textiles and Hyperflex Vinyls, Media One said Tuesday that it acquired the U.S. business and assets of Premex Solutions.
Media One is a distributor of wide-format printing solutions. Premex Solutions is a supplier of high-quality, print-ready fabrics for the digital textile printing industry. Premex Solutions was formerly a subsidiary of Premier Textiles U.K.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
In a statement, Media One said the acquisition "expands the range of applications and solutions Media One and Fisher Textiles can bring to its customers in the home décor, interior décor and fashion markets." The company said Premex Solutions has "deep textile knowledge and technical expertise, and established customer relationships that round out Media One and Fisher Textiles' existing product and service offerings."
Jake Feldman, CEO of Media One, said Premex has developed "best-in-class print-ready and pre-treated fabrics, along with real technical depth in natural and specialty textiles that complements our own printing technology and service expertise. Paired with our differentiated printing solutions, distribution scale and nationwide technical support, we can now bring an end-to-end, industry-leading solution to the home décor and apparel markets."
Media One said it takes an integrated approach to the market by bringing together print-ready fabrics, printing equipment, inks, finishing solutions and nationwide technical service under one roof. "Premex Solutions customers will continue to work with the people and products they know today while gaining access to Media One's broader capabilities and support.
Ashok Kallumpram, managing director of Premier Textiles, said the company "has been my family's business for more than four decades, and we are extremely proud of the reputation, relationships and textile expertise we have built over that time."
"Premex Solutions represents an important extension of that legacy into the U.S. digital printing market, so finding the right long-term home for the business was very important to us," Kallumpram said, adding that the company believes Media One "shares our commitment to customers, people and the textile industry and has the capabilities and vision to build on that legacy for many years to come."
Nick Smith, also a managing director of Premier Digital Textiles, said the acquisition
is "an exciting next chapter for Premex Solutions."
"Combining our textile expertise and product portfolio with Media One's broader digital print capabilities creates meaningful opportunities for our customers and our team," Smith said. "We look forward to supporting a smooth transition and helping build on the momentum Premex Solutions has created in the U.S. market."
