UK-based AMPYR Distributed Energy (ADE) has secured €170m ($194m) in debt financing from Crédit Agricole CIB and Franklin Templeton's Benefit Street Partners (BSP), both existing funding partners, to expedite European growth.

The new facilities aim to support the continued expansion of the company's distributed renewable energy assets and strategic acquisitions across Europe.

The latest funding agreement follows ADE's recent acquisition of a 70MW portfolio in Europe from TotalEnergies.

It is intended to reinforce the company's position in the distributed energy sector, enabling further growth and portfolio expansion in various European markets.

ADE develops, operates and owns on-site renewable energy infrastructure for industrial and commercial clients, funding projects through long-term power purchase agreements.

ADE CEO John Behan said: "This financing represents another significant milestone in our growth journey and demonstrates the continued confidence that Crédit Agricole CIB and Franklin Templeton's BSP have in our strategy, our team and our long-term vision.

"Demand for on-site energy continues to grow as businesses look for greater certainty, resilience and control over their energy costs. With the backing of our funding partners, we are well positioned to help more organisations turn energy into a long-term strategic asset."

Franklin Templeton's BSP Infrastructure Debt head Will Devenney said: "We are delighted to continue supporting ADE's growth and future expansion in Europe.

"This is a particularly compelling and mature infrastructure market – with huge investment need supported by robust government support and frameworks, and long-term contracts."

ADE says the new funding will allow more commercial and industrial clients to access fully funded on-site energy solutions, with a focus on reducing costs, improving resilience and advancing decarbonisation initiatives.

In February 2026, Ampyr Solar Europe acquired the East Yorkshire Solar Farm project in the UK from BOOM Power. The project is set to have a capacity exceeding 530MW-peak and generate enough electricity to supply around 100,000 homes.

"AMPYR Distributed Energy obtains debt financing of $194m for growth" was originally created and published by Power Technology, a GlobalData owned brand.
