Coca-Cola Co. today (28 July) lifted its forecasts for two closely-watched financial metrics after a "strong" second quarter.

In the three months to 3 July, the Sprite and Powerade owner saw its net revenues rise 7% to $13.4bn, an increase that amounted to organic growth of 6%.

Coca-Cola said the rise in organic sales was due to a 4% increase in concentrate sales and 2% growth in "price/mix". Unit case volumes improved 5%.

Alongside the results, the group provided refreshed guidance. It now sees its organic revenues growing by "approximately 5%" in 2026. Coca-Cola's previous forecast was a 4-5% increase.

Further down the income statement, the company sees its 2026 comparable earnings per share increasing 9-10%, versus its earlier forecast of a rise of 8-9%.

"We delivered another strong quarter by staying close to the changing needs of our consumers and customers," CEO Henrique Braun said. "While we continue to see a dynamic consumer landscape, we leveraged our powerful brands and system to gain value share, delivering revenue, profit and earnings growth while also investing for the long term."

Shares in Coca-Cola rose in early trading in New York.

The Fanta owner grew second-quarter organic revenues across each of its geographic reporting divisions.

Coca-Cola said "comparable currency-neutral operating income" also rose across almost all of its business units. In Europe, Middle East & Africa however, it fell 5%.

The company pointed to "an increase in marketing investments and higher operating expenses".

In Asia Pacific, the measure stayed flat, "as organic revenue (non-GAAP) growth
and lower operating expenses were offset by higher input costs and an increase in marketing investments".

In the second quarter, group operating income rose 9% to $4.67bn. Net income jumped 16% to $4.43bn.

Shares in Coca-Cola were up 2.21% at $84.07 at 07:50 GMT in pre-market trading today.

PepsiCo and Keurig Dr Pepper stock also rose in early trading.

Yesterday, Coca-Cola said its US dairy business Fairlife was manufacturing again in the wake of the cyberattack that hit the company earlier this month.

Coca-Cola said Fairlife had "resumed the majority of production" at the business unit's four factories in the US.

Last week, the Anubis ransomware group claimed responsibility for the cyberattack on Fairlife and threatened to release stolen data.

"Coca-Cola Co. bumps up guidance after Q2" was originally created and published by Just Drinks, a GlobalData owned brand.
