American Bitcoin’s President Resigns

The president of American Bitcoin (NASDAQ: $ABTC) has resigned from the cryptocurrency mining firm.

Matt Prusak, who served as both president and interim chief financial officer (CFO) of American Bitcoin, said he is leaving the company to join artificial intelligence (A.I.) infrastructure developer Giga Energy.

Prusak said he is leaving American Bitcoin effective immediately and will join privately held Giga Energy as chief business officer and interim CFO.

It's not immediately clear who will replace Prusak in the president role at American Bitcoin.

The high-profile departure comes as a growing number of Bitcoin (CRYPTO: $BTC) miners pivot to focus on A.I. data centres and power infrastructure.

American Bitcoin is backed by Canada's Hut 8 (NASDAQ: $HUT) and was co-founded by Eric Trump, one of U.S. President Donald Trump's sons.

Texas-based Giga Energy is a developer and manufacturer of power equipment and A.I. data centre infrastructure.

Prusak is one of several executives to depart American Bitcoin as the company and its stock have struggled.

In the last 12 months, ABTC stock has fallen 94% to trade at $5.85 U.S. per share.
