Boerse Stuttgart Digital, Tradias Complete Merger to Build European Crypto Hub

Boerse Stuttgart Digital, a major European institutional crypto and digital asset infrastructure partner, and institutional crypto trading firm Tradias have completed their merger after clearing the required ownership control procedure, creating a combined digital asset infrastructure business with around 300 employees.

The merger, announced in February, brings the companies' regulated crypto operations under the Boerse Stuttgart Group umbrella as the businesses seek to expand their presence among financial institutions across Europe. The combined unit will operate under the Boerse Stuttgart Digital name, while Tradias will remain the brand for trading services, according to a Wednesday announcement.

The newly formed business will offer a range of crypto and digital asset services, including trading, custody, staking and tokenization, covering what the companies describe as the full value chain. Its headquarters will be split between Frankfurt and Stuttgart, with additional offices in Athens, Beirut, Berlin, Dubai, Madrid, Milan and Ljubljana.

The combined business already counts major European financial institutions among its clients. Boerse Stuttgart Digital serves DZ Bank, DekaBank, Intesa Sanpaolo and Societe Generale-FORGE, while Tradias works with clients including flatexDEGIRO, dwpbank and government institutions across Europe.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Boerse Stuttgart Group first entered crypto in 2017, when it acquired fintech Sowa Labs. The push accelerated in 2019, when it launched BISON, its retail crypto platform, and Boerse Stuttgart Digital Exchange (BSDEX), Germany's first regulated crypto trading venue.

Since then, the group has expanded into institutional brokerage, trading and custody through Boerse Stuttgart Digital, while also developing tokenized-asset infrastructure such as Seturion, its pan-European blockchain-based settlement platform.
