AXA XL has agreed to buy the shares in S-RM that it does not already own, which will give it full ownership of the UK-based corporate intelligence and cybersecurity consultancy.
The company currently owns around 49% of S-RM.
Established in 2005, S-RM serves clients in more than 140 countries and has nine international offices across six continents.
Its work includes cyber risk assessment, managed detection and incident response, specialist investigations, geopolitical intelligence, and integrity and reputational due diligence.
According to the press statement, the transaction extends an existing partnership between AXA XL and S-RM and aims to support AXA XL's strategy to broaden its prevention offering.
S-RM CEO Heyrick Bond Gunning said: "S-RM has worked closely with AXA XL for over 15 years, both as a client and as an investor. This transaction will allow us to continue investing in our prevention services for existing clients, while expanding the reach of those capabilities."
After the deal is completed, S-RM is expected to continue serving its global client base within AXA XL Risk Advisory, a newly created AXA XL business unit focused on prevention.
The transaction, the financial terms of which have not been revealed, is subject to customary closing conditions including regulatory approvals, and is expected to be completed by the end of September 2026.
AXA XL CEO Scott Gunter said: "The acquisition of S-RM marks an important step in the buildout of AXA XL Risk Advisory and in our continued efforts to go beyond traditional insurance coverage."
The announcement comes after parent company AXA Group reported its results for the first half of 2026 (H1 2026).
Total gross written premiums and other revenues increased by 5% on a comparable basis to €66.28bn ($76.40bn).
Underlying earnings rose by 4% to €4.53bn, while underlying earnings per share increased by 8% to €2.19.
Net income climbed by 9% to €4.17bn, "mainly reflecting the increase in underlying earnings and better mark-to-market impacts".
AXA said it expects 2026 underlying earnings per share growth at the upper end of its 6–8% target range.
It also said it will present its 2027–29 strategic plan on 15 September 2026.
"AXA XL agrees to take full ownership of S-RM" was originally created and published by Life Insurance International, a GlobalData owned brand.
