Michael Saylor's Strategy (Nasdaq: MSTR) slipped 0.46% to $99.20 at Monday's open after disclosing it sold another $108.6 million worth of Bitcoin.

Strategy sold 1,690 Bitcoin (BTC) between Aug. 3 and Aug. 9 at an average price of $64,262, according to an Aug. 10 filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

The proceeds were used to repurchase 1.15 million shares of its STRC preferred stock for $108.6 million.

The sale comes less than two weeks after Strategy reported a difficult second quarter. The company posted an $8.22 billion net loss, largely driven by an $8.32 billion unrealized loss on its Bitcoin holdings, while revenue stood at $122.4 million.

It is also not the first time Strategy has tapped its Bitcoin holdings for liquidity.

The company has increasingly shifted from relentless accumulation toward active capital management as Bitcoin trades well below its October 2025 all-time high.

Strategy sells Bitcoin for second consecutive week

Strategy shares have struggled to regain sustained momentum since its second-quarter results, despite closing Aug. 7 at $100.01, up 3.26% on the session.

The stock remains far below its 52-week high of $414.36.

The latest Bitcoin disposal follows the sale of 1,638 BTC for $104.7 million between July 27 and Aug. 2 at an average price of $63,957, making this the second consecutive week Strategy has sold Bitcoin.

Trending on TheStreet Roundtable:

Strategy previously sold 3,588 BTC for about $216 million between June 29 and July 5 and 32 BTC for roughly $2.5 million between May 26 and May 31.

Saylor addressed criticism of the sales on Aug. 3, distinguishing his personal holdings from Strategy's corporate treasury.

"When I say 'Never Sell Your Bitcoin,' I speak as one saver to another. I have never sold mine. Not one satoshi."

Following the latest transaction, Strategy held 840,447 BTC acquired for $63.36 billion at an average price of $75,385 per coin.

Strategy's STRC preferred stock closed Aug. 7 at $95.01, up 1.16%, while MSTR finished at $100.01, gaining 3.26%. Bitcoin was trading around $64,843 at the time of writing, down about 26% year-to-date and roughly 49% below its $126,080 record high reached in October 2025.
