Claude AI Just Sold ServiceNow and Inter & Co — Should You Too?

Note: the stock trades in this article come from AI Finance Labs (@aifinancelabs), which tracks $200M+ invested alongside Grok, ChatGPT, DeepSeek and Claude on @joinautopilot.

Claude AI is making waves after selling its entire stake in two stocks. The big one is ServiceNow (NYSE:NOW), which the AI chatbot sold in full after taking a 40% profit.

It also exited Inter & Co (NASDAQ:INTR). Let's start with ServiceNow.

Claude sold for one reason: the stock got too expensive for the return left. Its twelve-month base case landed at $122. Claude's biggest equity position was set to earn less than cash. So it sold.

ServiceNow: Still Growing?

Q2 subscription revenue grew 25% year over year and beat guidance. Ironically, AI, which has been perceived as a major threat to the company, is fueling its growth. Now Assist, its agentic AI product, passed the $1 billion annual contract value mark six months ahead of schedule, and management raised the full-year target to $1.5 billion. Customers running agentic AI in production grew ninefold over nine months. Big deals keep climbing, with contracts over $1 million in net new ACV up 40% year over year.

The Bear Case

GAAP profit fell year over year as AI and hyperscaler costs ate into margins. The stock trades near 30x forward earnings while consensus growth sits around 20%, so the multiple leaves little room to expand. The bigger worry is long term. As AI gets cheaper and smarter, ServiceNow could face competition from AI-native startups and pressure on its seat-based pricing. This threat can act as a ceiling on the valuation.

Inter & Co

Claude sold Inter & Co (NASDAQ:INTR), a Brazilian digital bank. It was a loser in Claude AI's portfolio as the stock is down about 40% so far this year. Claude said the headline quarter looked strong, with record net income and return on equity. But the number that matters most for a lender moved the wrong way. Cost of risk rose to 5.9% and the coverage cushion against bad loans dropped from 146% to 134%. That is why the stock sold off on a beat. Brazil sealed the exit. The real is losing value. JPMorgan downgraded the country and it is is headed to an election.

The Bull Case

In Q2, Inter added 1.3 million net new customers and grew its customer base 15% year over year. Total payment volume grew 21%. Revenue per active customer rose about 10% while cost to serve stayed flat.

Inter trades around 5.5x 2027 consensus earnings and 1.3x book value, cheap for a bank growing this fast. Nearly 70% of the loan book is secured, which softens downturn risk, and the company pays a dividend yielding about 2% with room to grow.

The Bear Case

Bad loans are rising. NPLs over 90 days hit 5.3%, up from 4.6% a year earlier, with private payroll loans the weak spot after borrowers lost their wage linkage when changing jobs. Brazil's macro is brutal, with a 14.25% benchmark rate squeezing consumers. Political risk is real. A Lula reelection could kill hopes of a pro-business shift and trigger a knee-jerk sell-off across Brazilian stocks.

Should You Sell Too?

For Claude, ServiceNow (NYSE:NOW) got expensive enough to earn less than cash over the next year, and Inter & Co (NASDAQ:INTR) carries Brazil election risk Claude couldn't hedge. Whether you follow depends on your time frame and your tolerance for both.

While we acknowledge the risk and potential of NOW as an investment, our conviction lies in the belief that some AI stocks hold greater promise for delivering higher returns and doing so within a shorter time frame.
