As AI continues to develop in the workplace, concerns about how the technology will affect the job market grow.

Resume Now, an online resume builder, released a rating of 10 jobs that AI can't replace on July 10. The jobs, according to Resume Now, require "superhuman" skills, like endurance, navigation and danger detection, which artificial intelligence lacks.

To perhaps no one's surprise, the No. 1 ranked job on the list is firefighter. And analyzing the rest of the ranked jobs, emergency work in physically demanding environments topped the list.

By 2030, 300 million jobs could be lost to AI globally, representing 9.1% of all jobs worldwide, according to research published by National University in 2025. In the U.S., the university expects that by 2030, 30% of all jobs could be automated by AI.

Here's a look at the jobs Resume Now found to be unreplaceable.

Economy: Unemployment rate is falling, but for 'the wrong reason,' experts say

What are 10 jobs AI cannot replace?

Here's a look at the top 10 jobs Resume Now suspects AI won't be able to replace:

  1. Firefighters

  2. Airline pilots, copilots and flight engineers

  3. Manufactured building and mobile home installers

  4. Tree trimmers and pruners

  5. Structural iron and steel workers

  6. Derrick oil and gas operators

  7. Roof bolters and miners

  8. Commercial pilots

  9. Fishing and hunting workers

  10. Fallers (also known as timber fallers, loggers or sawyers)

How were the jobs ranked?

Resume Now analyzed data collected by O*NET, a nationwide source of occupational information, encompassing profiles for more than 55,000 jobs.

Resume Now specifically analyzed 894 jobs, ranking them based on six abilities:

  • Endurance/Stamina: Jobs that require workers to sustain physical effort over long periods of time

  • Strength/Static Strength: Jobs that depend on maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull or carry

  • Reflexes/Reaction Time: Jobs that require workers to respond quickly when a signal, movement or chance appears

  • Navigation/Spatial Orientation: Jobs that depend on knowing where you are in relation to the environment, or where objects are in relation to you

  • Split Attention/Time Sharing: Jobs that require workers to shift between multiple activities or sources of information in real time

  • Danger Detection/Problem Sensitivity: Jobs that depend on recognizing when something is wrong or likely to go wrong, before it escalates

To flush out these six abilities, Resume Now analyzed O*NET's Importance and Level ratings for each job. O*NET's Importance rating indicates the degree of importance a descriptor is to an occupation, while the Level rating indicates the degree in which a descriptor is required to perform the occupation. O*NET ranks jobs on these scales from 0 to 100. This means each ability could contribute up to 200 points (i.e. Importance and Level ratings for a job's endurance). In total, each job could rank up to 1,200 points (200 points for six abilities).

Higher scores indicate that an occupation requires a more demanding combination of the six abilities.
