Birkenstock Holding plc (BIRK) is proving that consumers may be cutting back, but they're not ready to give up their favorite pair of sandals just yet. Shares of the German footwear maker jumped 11.59% on Aug. 13 after its fiscal 2026 third-quarter results showed stronger-than-expected revenue, solid online growth, and enough confidence from management to lift its full-year guidance.

Sure, the company also delivered a slight earnings miss, but investors clearly focused on the bigger picture. Birkenstock's latest numbers point to resilient demand for its premium footwear, even as shoppers remain cautious with their discretionary spending. And the raised outlook adds another vote of confidence in the brand's ability to keep growing. So, with the latest results giving investors plenty to like, let's take a closer look at Birkenstock's performance and what could be next for BIRK shares.

About Birkenstock

Birkenstock Holding is the parent company of Birkenstock Group B.V. & Co. KG and its subsidiaries, overseeing a global brand with roots that stretch back to 1774. Built around the principles of foot health and comfort, Birkenstock has grown beyond its traditional sandal-making heritage to become a widely recognized footwear name across markets, age groups, and consumer segments. The company's approach is deeply grounded in the biomechanics of the human foot, with function, quality, and craftsmanship remaining central to its products.

While footwear remains its core business, the brand has also expanded into sleep systems and natural cosmetics, offering products across a range of price points. Its long history and focus on everyday comfort have helped Birkenstock remain relevant as consumer preferences increasingly shift toward practical, quality-focused, and more conscious lifestyles. Birkenstock entered the public markets in October 2023 with plenty of brand recognition behind it, but its stock performance has been a mixed bag.

Now valued at $7.54 billion by market capitalization, Birkenstock remains down 18.7% over the past year and is only modestly higher at -3.8% in 2026. However, the recent trend is telling a different story. Over the past three months, BIRK shares have jumped 15.29%, significantly outpacing the S&P 500 Index's ($SPX) 3.79% gain during the same stretch. The rally has gained even more traction following Birkenstock's latest earnings report, with shares climbing 2.34% over the past five trading sessions.

Inside Birkenstock's Q3 Earnings Report

Birkenstock's third-quarter earnings report managed to win over investors despite a slight earnings miss, as stronger-than-expected revenue, broad-based growth, and an upbeat full-year outlook painted a largely encouraging picture for the premium footwear maker. Birkenstock delivered €720 million in revenue for the quarter, up 13% on a reported basis and 15% in constant currency, comfortably ahead of the €713.2 million consensus estimate. The strong top-line performance reflected resilient consumer demand for the company's premium footwear across its major markets.

Growth remained broad-based across all of Birkenstock's core geographic regions, with Asia-Pacific (APAC) emerging as the fastest-growing market, expanding 18% year-over- year (YOY) as the company's footprint expansion continued to take hold. Meanwhile, EMEA sales increased 15%, while the Americas grew 11%, highlighting that both high-earning and middle-class consumers in Birkenstock's core Western markets continue to prioritize spending on the brand's premium footwear portfolio.

The company's direct-to-consumer (DTC) business also outpaced B2B growth, with DTC revenue increasing 14% on a reported basis, compared with 13% growth in B2B revenue. The performance was supported by strength across both digital and in-store channels. Birkenstock also continued expanding its retail footprint, adding 13 new company-owned stores during the quarter and bringing its total number of own retail stores to 124 as of June 30, 2026.

Still, the quarter was not without a few blemishes. Adjusted EPS came in at €0.74, representing 10% YOY growth, but falling slightly short of Wall Street's €0.76 estimate. Meanwhile, adjusted EBITDA rose 11% to €242 million, although the adjusted EBITDA margin narrowed by 70 basis points to 33.7%. The margin pressure was primarily attributed to unfavorable currency translation and incremental U.S. tariffs, which were partly offset by improved capacity absorption.

Despite those headwinds, Birkenstock's strong revenue performance and healthy underlying demand gave management enough confidence to raise its fiscal 2026 outlook. The company now expects revenue growth of 15%, up from its previous guidance range of 13% to 15%. This puts reported revenue at the high end of the company's previous €2.30 billion to €2.35 billion range and compares with the €2.34 billion consensus estimate.

Birkenstock also raised its adjusted EBITDA guidance to at least €710 million, up from its previous forecast of at least €700 million and slightly above the €709.8 million consensus estimate. The company now expects an adjusted EBITDA margin of 30.2% to 30.5%, compared with its previous range of 30% to 30.5%. Looking ahead, APAC remains a key growth engine, with Birkenstock expecting the region to remain on track to grow at twice the pace of its other regions for the full year.

What Do Analysts Think About Birkenstock Stock?

Wall Street appears to be keeping its confidence in Birkenstock, with BIRK carrying a consensus "Moderate Buy" rating. Among the 21 analysts covering the stock, 15 rate it a "Strong Buy," one recommends a "Moderate Buy," four have a "Hold" rating, and just one analyst calls for a "Strong Sell." The bullish sentiment is also reflected in the price targets.

The average target of $53.24 points to 35.3% upside from current levels, while the Street-high target of $76 suggests a potential gain of as much as 93.1%. While analyst targets are far from guarantees, the numbers show that Wall Street sees meaningful room for BIRK to climb if Birkenstock can sustain its recent momentum.
