A joint venture (JV) of Ceigall India Limited (CIL) and Sushee Infra Mining Limited (SIML) has received four letters of acceptance from India's Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) for road construction projects in Arunachal Pradesh.
The projects have a total contract value of approximately Rs21.5bn ($224.4m).
The CIL-SIML JV consists of CIL with a 74% share and SIML holding the remaining 26%.
All four contracts will be carried out on an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) basis.
The construction projects span several key sections of National Highway 913 (Frontier Highway), a strategic transport route in north-east India.
The packages covered include the construction of the Huri–Taliha section from 0km to 55.725km for Rs5.21bn, as well as an additional segment from 55.725km to 113.25km of the same section, valued at Rs5.25bn.
Another contract covers the Sarli–Huri section from 0km to 78.38km, with a bid cost of Rs6.11bn.
The final package comprises road construction from 160.75km to 209.90km of the Huri–Taliha section, valued at Rs4.93bn.
The first, second, and fourth projects are scheduled for completion in 36 months, while the third is expected to be completed within 48 months.
Each contract also includes a five-year maintenance period after construction.
CIL chairman and managing director Ramneek Sehgal said: "We are pleased to secure these four important packages from the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways for the development of the Frontier Highway in Arunachal Pradesh.
"These projects further strengthen our presence in India's strategic road infrastructure development and reflect our capabilities in executing large and complex projects across challenging geographies.
"We remain committed to delivering these projects with the highest standards of quality, safety and timely execution while contributing to improved infrastructure connectivity in the region."
CIL's current order book is expected to grow as a result of these awards, signalling further activity in the road and highway infrastructure sector.
The company undertakes EPC and Hybrid Annuity Model projects involving bridges, flyovers, highways, tunnels and other transport infrastructure, and has expanded into renewable energy initiatives within India.
