Expeditors International of Washington, Inc. (EXPD), headquartered in Seattle, Washington, provides logistics services. Valued at $24.2 billion by market cap, the company provides air and ocean freight forwarding, vendor consolidation, customs clearance, marine insurance, distribution, and other international logistics services.

Shares of this leading non-asset-based third-party logistics provider have outperformed the broader market over the past year. EXPD has gained 57.1% over this time frame, while the broader S&P 500 Index ($SPX) has rallied nearly 20.1%. In 2026, EXPD stock is up 26.4%, surpassing the SPX's 13.1% rise on a YTD basis.

Zooming in further, EXPD's outperformance is also apparent compared to the ProShares Supply Chain Logistics ETF (SUPL). The exchange-traded fund has gained about 25.4% over the past year. Moreover, the stock's returns on a YTD basis outshine the ETF's 20.1% gains over the same time frame.

EXPD's outperformance is driven by double-digit growth in high-margin airfreight volumes propelled by tight capacity and tech infrastructure demand alongside increased demand for complex customs and trade compliance services amid shifting global tariff policies. The growth is further supported by the company's asset-light operating model, which generates strong returns on capital without the burden of fleet overhead.

On Aug. 4, EXPD shares closed up by 6.4% after reporting its Q2 results. Its EPS of $2.03 beat Wall Street expectations of $1.68. The company's revenue was $3.5 billion, topping Wall Street forecasts of $2.9 billion.

For the current fiscal year, ending in December, analysts expect EXPD's EPS to grow 28.6% to $7.65 on a diluted basis. The company's earnings surprise history is impressive. It beat the consensus estimate in each of the last four quarters.

Among the 17 analysts covering EXPD stock, the consensus is a "Hold." That's based on four "Strong Buy" ratings, nine "Holds," and four "Strong Sells."

This configuration is less bearish than a month ago, with five analysts suggesting a "Strong Sell."

On Aug. 4, Stifel Financial Corp. (SF) analyst J. Bruce Chan maintained a "Hold" rating on EXPD and set a price target of $184.

While EXPD currently trades above its mean price target of $181.57, the Street-high price target of $220 suggests an upside potential of 16.9%.
