Nvidia Posts Record $96.2B Revenue, Shares Jump on $108B Outlook

Nvidia Corporation (NASDAQ: $NVDA) shares reversed an early after-hours drop Wednesday after the chipmaker posted record fiscal second-quarter revenue and guided above Wall Street expectations, extending the AI infrastructure boom into another quarter.

Revenue reached $96.2 billion for the quarter ended July 26, up 106% from a year earlier and 18% from the previous quarter. Data Center revenue climbed 117% year over year to a record $89 billion, while adjusted earnings came in at $2.22 per share, ahead of the $2.09 analysts expected.

The stock closed regular trading down 1.59% at $209.66 before turning higher after the earnings call. Shares later gained more than 4% as investors focused on the company's growth outlook and another large expansion with Amazon Web Services.

Nvidia expects third-quarter revenue of $108 billion, plus or minus 2%, compared with the $104.19 billion Wall Street estimate cited by Reuters. The outlook assumes no Data Center chip sales to China, leaving room for additional revenue if shipments into the market improve.

Founder and CEO Jensen Huang said "AI has reached its inflection point," adding that "now, compute is revenue" as demand spreads across frontier labs, startups, open-model developers and physical AI.

The company is already preparing for the next leg of that demand. Nvidia said Vera Rubin is in full production, while Nvidia and AWS plan to deploy another 2 million GPUs across Amazon's global infrastructure during 2027 and 2028.

Its buildout is also becoming more capital intensive. Nvidia disclosed $366 billion in multiyear AI infrastructure commitments, including $279 billion tied to supply and capacity, alongside up to $108.5 billion in phased guarantees.

The quarter leaves Nvidia entering the second half of the year with record Data Center sales, a stronger revenue forecast and a growing financial commitment to the infrastructure supporting AI demand.

Nvidia Corporation (NASDAQ: NVDA) shares closed Wednesday at $209.66 U.S., before climbing more than 4% in after-hours trading following the earnings release.
